- The honey bee is the only insect that produces food eaten by man.
 - Out of 20,000 species of bee, only four make honey.
 - The bees’ stomach is the size of the head of a pin, to fill this once the bee may need to visit 1,000 flowers.
 - Honey bees visit about 2 million flowers to make one pound of honey.
 - Workers fly within a 3 to 4 mile radius of their hive.

 - Honey bees are the only type of bee which doesn’t hibernate in the winter.

 - Honey bees communicate through movements called a waggle dance to tell each other where to find good sources of food.
 - Honey bees have 5 eyes.
